Ahmad's Trackr is a free tracker for first-year spring weeks, insight days and events, run by Ahmad Rehman, a student, as a personal project. This page explains what it keeps about you and why.
Who's responsible
Ahmad Rehman is the data controller: the person responsible for your data under UK data protection law. For anything about your data, or to make a request, email info@ahmadstrackr.me. You'll get a reply within a month, and usually much sooner.
What's kept
- Your email address, to send your private link and, if you want them, the daily or weekly emails.
- Your first name, if you give it, to greet you.
- What you mark and write: the status of each listing, the dates of your next steps and your notes.
- Your email settings: daily, weekly or off, and which kinds of opportunity you want.
- Feedback you send through the box at the bottom of the page, with your email if you add it.
- Your IP address, only alongside sign-up requests and feedback, to stop abuse. Sign-up requests are deleted after two days.
The site doesn't use cookies. Your browser stores your private link and display preferences on your own device so you stay signed in. If you try the tracker without signing up, what you mark stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Why
To run the service you asked for: your tracker and its emails. That's the legal basis (performing the service you signed up for). Feedback and IP addresses are kept because there's a legitimate interest in fixing problems and preventing abuse.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare hosts the site and its database, and counts visits with Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or track you across sites.
- Resend sends sign-up emails.
- Apple iCloud Mail sends the daily and weekly emails.
- GitHub runs the daily job that checks listings and sends the emails.
Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared for advertising or marketing. Some of these providers store data outside the UK, under their own safeguards.
How long
Until you delete your tracker. Listings that close are kept so your applications to them stay visible.
Your choices
- Stop the emails with the link at the bottom of any email, or in Settings.
- Delete everything in Settings, under Delete my tracker. Your email, name, progress, notes and feedback are removed straight away.
- See, correct or export your data, or ask anything else, by emailing info@ahmadstrackr.me, using the feedback box on the site, or replying to any of the emails.
If you're unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
